Kabul, 31 March 2018 – Sheba Radio/HUB Group, one of Afghanistan’s most popular radio stations, and Pajhwok Afghan News, Afghanistan’s largest independent news agency, announced the signing of a strategic cooperative agreement on 25 March 2018.
The agreement provides in principle, for the sharing of services and resources between the two prominent and esteemed Afghan organizations. With immediate effect, Sheba Radio/HUB Group will have access to Pajhwok’s extensive archive and daily output of photographs, video footage and audio clips. Sheba Radio/HUB Group will utilize Pajhwok’s services to complement its own new gathering resources, thereby delivering the most credible and up-to-the-minute national and international news and information to listeners throughout Afghanistan. In addition, content produced by Pajhwok will be made available to Afghan’s on Sheba Radio’s website, and across all of Sheba Radio’s highly trafficked social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Drawing upon Sheba Radio’s nationwide reach and coverage, Pajhwok’s products and services will be heavily promoted on Sheba Radio through advertising and on-air messaging, and through messaging on Sheba Radio’s website and social media platforms. The strategic cooperative agreement also provides for coordination between Sheba Radio/HUB Group and Pajhwok, to conduct qualitative and quantitative research, an historic initiative marking the first time ever in which two Afghan media companies will work side-by-side to produce and publish a comprehensive media guide of Afghanistan’s media landscape. Furthermore, Sheba Radio/HUB Group will offer technical assistance and marketing consultancy services to Pajhwok, thereby strengthening Pajhwok’s existing capacities.
